@They are not kidding but very serious. The "fighting"
festival in Shibata is one of the most exiting,
most violent and craziest rituals in Japan. In this
4-hour-long festival, hundreds of drunken guys are
marching around the city, carrying their own two-story
portable shrines which is about 5 meters high, capable
of carrying 20 people. Every time they encounter
another portable shrines, they start to fight each
other, with plenty of punching, kicking, wrestling,
etc. Naturally some of people are hospitalized.
I feel as if I become a photographer in the Vietnam
war battlefield.

p.s
I think this festival is well worth visiting. Why
don't you come over to Shibata, Niigata Prefecture
to have a look? For those who need to "discharge"
their energy, I recommend them to take part in. If
so, do not forget to join a health insurance.
